Project Brief
Dr. Candacé King is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and narrative strategist whose work is built on one thing, the power of clear, compelling communication. For her Office Hours video series, she had a simple but intentional request: no motion graphics, no visual noise. Just the message.
The Approach
Before a single cut was made, I asked for her brand colors and fonts. For a series, consistency is everything, the typography needed to feel like her across every episode, tying each video together into one cohesive body of work.
The footage was single camera, so I used strategic zoom transitions and subtle angle shifts to create visual variety and keep viewers engaged without distracting from her delivery.
The Process
I put together a reference edit for her review. She came back with two specific adjustments, clear, decisive feedback that showed exactly what she was after. I made the changes and delivered the final cut.
She loved it.
